On August 16, 2022, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a final rule to improve access to hearing aids by establishing a new category of over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids. These OTC hearing aids will be available to adults with mild to moderate hearing loss as soon as mid-October 2022 directly in stores and online.
