PORH welcomes Jennifer Hessert as the office's new assistant director. In this capacity, she will
be responsible for assisting in the implementation of PORH's strategic plan, specifically
overseeing the coordination of continuing education events and publications, administrative
duties such as budget and staffing issues, advocacy efforts such as participating on committees,
task forces, etc., and representing the Director in his/her absence.
Jennifer is a native of Waynesboro, in Franklin County. She received her bachelor’s degree in
rehabilitation education and her master’s degree in counseling education from Penn State.
Jennifer has held various student services, academic research and database management
positions throughout her career, including positions at Central Pennsylvania Business School
(now Central Pennsylvania College), York College of Pennsylvania and most recently at Penn
State’s University Park campus.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys singing, reading historical fiction, traveling, attending movies
and cultural events and being outdoors. She also enjoys participating in lively debates and
bringing together people who share common interests and abilities in order to facilitate
prosperous relationships.
Jennifer is happily married to Bill Hessert, who serves as director of college relations for the
Penn State College of Health and Human Development. She and Bill reside in State College.
