Jim Harvey is the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health's Farm Worker Protection Safety Specialist.
In this new position, Jim will be traveling throughout the state providing education and technical and
compliance assistance to farmers, growers, and their employees on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Worker
Protection Standard. A special emphasis will be placed on training migrant and immigrant farm workers plus other
special populations. Jim also will work with farm worker advocacy groups and healthcare professionals concerned
about agricultural illness and these special groups.
Jim is a graduate of Lock Haven State College with a degree in General Studies, with an emphasis on Conservation
Law Enforcement. Prior to coming to PORH, Jim was a regional farm safety agent with Penn State Cooperative Extension.
Jim, his wife, and two daughters live in the Lewistown area. |
