The PA Department of Health is hosting a Forum on November 3rd at the District Office in Williamsport for youth, families and professionals who work with people with special needs. The purpose of the forum is to identify local community issues that families with children/youth with special needs face on a daily basis and then to try to identify solutions both locally and statewide. This is a follow-up meeting from the PA Consortium for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs that was held in June in Harrisburg.

If you are interested in participating, please contact me. Also, if you know of any families or professionals who may be interested in participating, please pass this along to them. You can use either document. Feel free to print it out and distribute. There will be reimbursement for parents for travel (approx. $0.50/mile) and child care costs (up to $12.00/hr and up to 4 hrs). The forum is a partnership of PA DOH, PA Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics, PA Health Law Project and Parent Education Advocacy Leadership (PEAL) Center.
